Damn, Alistair is lookin' mighty fine in that icon of yours!*cough* I mean, yes! I was debating dwarf commoner myself, but it seems like a lot of people like the noble route -- I might go for that one, thanks!Re: Dragon Age Origins
Thank you, thank you.Dwarf commoner is definitely good too! You could play both, see which one you enjoy more then go with that playthrough. (If you wanted you could always come back to the other later.)
Re: Dragon Age Origins
I like it because it was a very classic heroic knight story. On to revenge! (And maybe finding my brother, but mostly revenge!)

(Anonymous) 2013-06-07 01:15 am (UTC)(link)Likewise, female dwarf casteless is pretty awesome for a lot of the same reasons.
They also both have one of the most solid senses of identity to me, and it's nice that they insert the player directly into the scummier and darker parts of society that we know suck, but ultimately don't have a connection to outside of those origins.
IMO they also have the most detailed "homecomings". Dwarf noble had a really neat premise, but man the return to Orzammar was so disappointing.

I really wanted to like Arl Howe just for that, but ugh. Arl Howe, why are you such a bag of dicks!
Re: Dragon Age Origins
(Anonymous) 2013-06-07 12:19 pm (UTC)(link)The human mage origin was my first and will always have my heart (hello, cool conection to DAII!) but IMO the most interesting origins are the dwarf ones, especially the dwarf noble. So much rich backstory and world building.
I would say the least interesting is probably the human noble because it's kind of cliche and safe, but then the whole storyline of DAO is cliche, it's the dialogue and characterisation you play for, so yeah.
Conclusion: play all of the origins through to at least Ostagar, you won't regret it!
