I don't want to get married, but sometimes I kind of want to have a wedding.

I just like the dresses. (But I'm not dumb enough to spend $10,000 on one, either.)

I love the dresses but it helps that I don't have a figure one of the really beautiful dresses would look good on haha

I'm the same. I was at a wedding last week, and she had such a nice dress, and pretty hair, and he looked so handsome in his suits, and it was in this cute little chapel...and it was awesome.

But on some level, I just feel it could never be me. The concept of marriage just rubs me the wrong way.I don't see myself as a married woman. It feels wrong. Not me. I also don't really believe in the foundations of marriage. So yeah.

I've considered throwing like a cohabitation party thing, but turns out I might not be the cohabiting kind either.

You could try help organising weddings for friends and family and see if you get the same satisfied feeling at the frills and things?

I know what you mean, though. I like looking at wedding exhibits and shops to see all the pretty decorations and outfits.

I don't want to get married either but I would love to have a huge wedding reception. I would love Gogol Bordello to be the house band. And the food! So much food.

I want to get married, I logically don't want a big wedding, but then I think it would be kind of fun. At this point my ideal wedding would be a really tiny thing that didn't cost all that much, but some wedding stuff is just too pretty.

I can understand what you mean. I'm still confused about the idea of marriage (sometimes yes, sometimes no), but I have spent time dreaming up my "perfect wedding". I'd want a small intimate thing, I don't think I could handle anything big. I've seen them, and, while they are fun from my guest experiences, I know the money, stress, and time spent into an elaborate wedding can drive people crazy to the point of wanting the wedding to end before it arrives.

I had never wanted to get married, not even when I was little. But I loved it when I planned the wedding of a (male, gay) character I roleplay and was left kind of wanting a similar one for me (lesbian wedding, small, on a rural area (forest + lake), the most delicious food. Can't decide if I wanted a dress or a suit). It will never happen, of course, but I still have the pics of all the research I did and sometimes look at them fondly :'D

(And nope, I still don't want to get married for real, though.)

Huh, I guess I'm the opposite. I can see myself wanting marriage at some future point, but I dread having to throw a wedding. I keep trying to think to schemes that would allow me to get all the gifts and money my friends did for their weddings, without putting myself into debt financing said weddings the way they did. (It's a weird culture I live in.)

I keep looking at Offbeat Bride and thinking, "Ooh, that looks AWESOME!", but I don't actually want to marry. So yeah, it's awkward.
