The tumblr tag about MGS is exploding with people crying about how Dayter is not going to voice Big Boss anymore and hating on the new VA (Sutherland). The show also was a lot about social/casino gaming and PES and had nothing on other Konami games.

I'm kind of tired of the Dayter wank, TBH (and I wouldn't put it past Kojima for this being an elaborate ruse, does anyone else remember how they tried to fool us with "The Phantom Pain" being a "new" game by indie company Moby Dick?).

I also miss Metal Gear Solid being, y'know... about Solid Snake. This is just a personal opinion but: I really couldn't care less about the speshul snowflakeness of Big Boss and all the manpain he has been given after MGS3. I'd rather have MGS games with more backstory on all the other characters instead of characters being used as mere plotpoints to back up BB's descent into madness.

(Yeah, I know not liking him is kind of anathema :C)

Sadly that what it seems.

I love David Hayter, but I'm getting the impression that since he's more associated with Solid Snake, they thought a different voice was a better idea for a game about Big Boss. I really like the choice of Kiefer Sutherland myself.

I'm not a huge fan of Boss either, but I still find him interesting - although like you I'd love to see them explore other characters. I'm still excited for MGSV. I hope it's playable at E3 omgomgomg. (bit of a stretch but I can hope)

Yeah, I'm thinking Sutherland will do an amazing job. We only need to give the guy a chance... David Hayter will forever be /Solid/ Snake for me. It makes sense for a young BB to have the same VA, with the clones business and all, but the characters need to grow apart and this is a noticiable cue.

I think we'll have a new trailer at E3 but not the complete game.

If we're going to have another Metal Gear game featuring someone other than Solid, can we please get something featuring The Boss/The Joy instead? A game centering around her and the Cobra Unit could be so awesome...

THIS. Yes please. So much. I've been wanting this for years, and with a setting on WW2 it would be really amazing. Of course, since it would feature an unit lead by The Joy, it would have to be of a different style on gameplay but I really want it :(
