Writer's and Reader's Block

I don't know if it's because I haven't been on break for a month or what, but I feel like nearly every summer I plan on reading and writing a lot (fanfic and original), and I end up reading a book or two and like maybe a fanfic with a few sentences of something original. I don't know if it's because I haven't found the right books or the right fandom or the right inspiration or what, but it's kind of annoying how I just end up on tumblr or AO3 instead of doing something constructive. *sigh* I'm sorry for complaining. I just wanted to get that off my chest because it was bothering me, and it's not important enough to talk about aloud.

Anyone else ever get like this? Or maybe have some book recs? I'm typically looking for something fast-paced and around the 200-300 page range. Chick lit is okay if it's actually got a plot, I don't like horror if it's gory, I don't do fantasy at all, I never really tried sci-fi, historical fiction is great, I'm a fan of realistic fiction (Willow, Speak, Th1rteen R3asons Why,etc.), I don't like supernatural/vampire/werewolf crap, and I like books with strong lead female characters. I'm sorry for being so picky. Fanfic has ruined me with all of the provided filters to find exactly what I like...
