Holy shit, I'm so sorry that you got into a fight with your brother. He's not a kid anymore, and if he's frustrated he needs to find another way to vent instead of bitching at you about your life. I wish I could offer something more than saying that I'm really sorry that this happened to you. I hope things get better.

My best friend got into an argument with his brother yesterday. They work for the same guy and I guess things got kind of confusing and his brother called him a fucking faggot, and my best friend stormed out because my best friend is gay and his brother has known for years. To use that word in the heat of a moment is a super low blow.

my bro is gay and i called him a 'faggot' today, too (right after he called me a 'stupid fucking bitch' and hit me). funny thing is i actually HATE that word and will bitch at anyone for using it, but i guess when you're in the heat of the moment you just say whatever it is that will hurt the most.

not to say that your friend's boyfriend was justified, but that i understand how easily words slip out when you're that enraged.

If you want to hurt somebody and you know how to hurt them, the most horrible things can come out of you before you know what you are doing.

It really seems like you and your brother should not be living in the same place. Or at the very least need as much distance/separation as can be managed for now.

And some point, you guys should probably try to make peace if that's possible, but that is almost certainly too raw and too soon.

But yeah I have a horrendously bad relationship with my brother and I call him all kinds of horrible things about his weight and his lack of friends that I know are terrible and I should never say, but in the heat of battle sometimes that's the only weapon I have.

DA I'm an expert at saying the thing most likely to devastate another person if I'm really angry with them and can't get away to calm down. I hate it about myself and try not to do it but sometimes it's impossible not to say that stuff. If a family member had done to me what your brother did to you, there is no way I would have been able to exert the necessary control over myself to not say that. The angrier I am, the more difficult it is to do.
