36. I didn't like the idea of the compilation series either, but playing CC brought back a good nostalgia trip reminding me why I liked the OG in the first place. It doesn't have to do the same for you (obviously, since you don't like the fansqueeing) but at least for me, personally, it has something that can make me happy, and well. Fansqueeing is how you would express it on a journal. If people are just expressing their happiness, why is it a problem to you? It could be any series other than the FF7 Compilation and people could be squeeing about that, for the time that it makes them happy. Would that be more acceptable? It doesn't make much of a difference, does it?

While I don't blame you, it's still upsetting to think that a friend can't do a little to indulge or well, even ignore their friends' happiness without making it look like that their friends are committing some sort of crime by doing so.

Their journals are theirs, I don't complain about what they post. The constant talking about the game... that's harder to ignore.

Yes, it course would be more acceptable if they squeed to me about a series that they know doesn't bother me like the Compilation does. They know I hate it. Why would you wave something someone hates in their face?

If they're doing it knowing that you don't want to talk about it, then they're incredibly inconsiderate. If they didn't know, that's a different story altogether, seeing as you mentioned wishing you were never a part of the fandom in the beginning, then they're probably assuming you might feel a spark of like for it, as all friends would want to band together with.

It's not as though there's a lack of people to fangasm the Compilation about, so if they're insisting it when you don't want to bother with it, I can definitely see why you'd be annoyed.

^ That's exactly it. I wouldn't complain if they didn't know!

There are these things called filters. Use 'em or STFU.
