I suppose I agree if I say the humor, I don't mind. The repeated squeeing over the same damn things... that's another story.

I get you. It's to the point where I won't say the compilation has killed my love of the game -- I don't think it ever could because I find the original graphics, script and general quirkiness of it very charming and probably always will.

The fandom, however, is like you said, a stranger to me now. Which is alright, fandom isn't butthurt over this loss and we'll live, but it does get awkward when people expect a certain amount of excitement shared and for you to "squee" with them. Especially when it's as you describe, that your friends are continuously bringing it up to you and just won't shut up. I haven't had to deal with that and I'm sorry you're in such an annoying situation. e_e
