Re: What to do in San Francisco

It depends on what you're interested in and what kind of budget you're looking at and all that kind of thing. Off the top of my head you should definitely visit Chinatown/North Beach, because they're cool neighborhoods, and go up to Coit Tower for a great view, and ride the cable cars (a surprisingly decent way of getting around downtown; just keep in mind that you can get on and off at any stop - don't bother waiting in line). Also, if you're there in the morning, there's a place in North Beach that makes the best foccacia, Liguria Bakery. Fisherman's Wharf is mostly a tourist trap but Alcatraz is definitely worth visiting. Also, the Exploratorium is a really, really cool science museum that you'll probably like (although they just re-opened in a new location I haven't been to).
