you sound like you are taking all of this way, way too seriously.

yes, it sucks that there are haters, but there are haters for every pairing. that doesn't mean you should automatically tar all people who don't ship your otp with the same brush just because they ship something else.

be sad about your a/b otp, sure. but you also have to recognize that not everyone else is going to be sad and some people might shrug and say "oh well, a/c is cute too." your reaction is not the only acceptable one.

Seriously OP [I'm assuming], while haters suck [and believe me, my main ship in my main fandom has a *lot* of people who go out of their way to hate on the ship in front of the fans], it doesn't change the fact you're over-reacting. Saying 'Oh well, at least -other ship- is cute and might have a chance!' isn't hating on your ship. Honestly, it's got very little to do with your ship beyond 'Oh well'. Lashing out and saying that *only* people who OTP your ship, and don't ship others, should be allowed in a pairing comm is not cool on many, many levels.

exactly. the only time i could understand that sort of reaction would be if the other ship was really skeevy for whatever reason. there's one ship in my own fandom that grosses me out because of the seriously skeevy implications (adult/a character who is mentally a very young child) and the fact that everyone who ships it ignores those in favor of cute fluff. i can totally understand having an "eww go away" reaction if it's something like that.

but if it's just another run-of-the-mill ship? then you need to get over it.
