but... the people DO support that ship, they just happen to support other ships too.

i can see it being bad form if people were posting fics and art and stuff featuring other ships, but if it's just something that happens to come up in conversation, i don't see how it's a problem. it's not like they're hating on a/b, they're just saying they also ship a/c.

I don't think this is what the OP is really talking about: she resents the fact that multi-shippers dismiss her being sad about the decline of A/B by telling her that A/C is an interesting pairing too!

The multi-shippers are telling her in effect that since they ALSO care about A/C, her OWN feelings about A/B and its decline as a pairing don't matter all that much.

Which is rather dismissive and self-centered of them, I must say. I mean, I am glad for them they are not affected emotionally by the decline of A/B, I am glad they love other pairings as well, but if I don't, I cannot change that and logic cannot talk me into suddenly caring about ANOTHER pairing because I don't change my likes like I can change my socks, sorry.

If we were not over-emotional about a pairing, it would not be an OTP then, would it?
