The showing, not telling is done in such an elaborately overdone and facetious way that it made it funnier to me.
At least, that's why I liked them... also, Violet is a pretty awesome female lead for the genre and also, I just really, really love sibling relationships in fiction and I always think the world could use more stories that focus on sibs.
