Yeah, I meant things like the Nazi hyenas, the fact that Scar is the only lion with dark fur and pings as stereotypically gay to a lot of people, etc. (IDK how much stock I put in it, I was just surprised nobody brought it up since this stuff is usually mentioned whenever someone criticizes Lion King.)

Have you ever compared Scar to Jafar? Both were designed by Andreas Deja and it really shows how he likes his villains.

The other villains he did were Gaston and Queen Narissa.
If you look closely at Gaston he also sports the typical evil "mascara eyes" Deja loves to give his baddies:

also, i don't like it because IRL female lions are the ones who do ALL the hunting. all real male lions do is eat, sleep, shit and fuck, but you can't have that in a Disney movie.
also, the beginning sequence has elephants bowing down to be all kiss ass to a lion. IRL, an elephant can kill a lion with one good swat with its trunk.

But the lionesses in The Lion King also do all the hunting, don't they? I remember Scar saying as much.

Yeah, they definitely did. Sarabi tells him that they can't find enough food. Just because the female lions spending their mornings sunbathing and licking their kids doesn't mean they aren't off in the afternoons stalking zebra. No clue where anon got that idea.

Male lions help take down larger kills (like buffalo), defend the kills from other predators, and defend the territory in general from other lions; everyone in the pride does their part. Also, in the movie, the animals show deference to the pride because they keep rival predators out and don't over hunt the territory. Adult elephants can defend themselves, but desperate predators will take down calves if they find them alone.

...I watched a lot of Discovery Channel after I first saw the Lion King, okay.
