No, that's not what I meant, I just...don't think most people would actually follow through on that option if it were given to them, but maybe I'm wrong.

I know a lot of people who would sell their soul for less than 'bring my co-dependant brother back to life'.

For example 'bring my mother back to life', 'don't let my mother figure die', 'make X girl love me' and things like that.

Or 'make me rich and famous' but that's a whole different kettle.

For as long as the myth of the deal with the devil has existed, there have been people who would gladly do it for the sake of a loved one. Even if their relationship was all healthy before the deal was needed.

"my soul gone in a year" is a really abstract concept, especially if you've just, say, lost your kid.
