Buffoon? Er...he became a neurotic mess, but "buffoon" is not the word I'd use. Buffoon is more descriptive of Homer Simpson. Or, uh, Eric.

Why? What was so terrible about him? He was still a pretty good guy, just...rather overbearing. All I saw was that he developed some major mental issues with change and uncertainty for a couple of seasons, which he seemed to have gotten over quite well by the finale.
