Most fandoms are big enough that you can not reply to a BNF and not be seen as rude unless they've directly addressed you in a way that can't be ignored. And odds are good as a SJW they'll be too absorbed in their own shit to notice you anyway unless you go looking for their threads.

But if it's really that small... I guess... grow a pair?

You are letting something that MIGHT happen stop you from enjoyment you know you'll DEFINITELY have on the way.

I hate to say it, but I'd feel the same.

Fandom isn't worth the emotional cost sometimes, when you have to deal with jerks, or are just stressed all the time from being around people like that.

Just get away from them. If you ever feel brave enough, be part of the fandom but just in the ways YOU want to be, and stay away from the people who make you crazy/scared/insecure.

That's my advice, anyway. Free advice, just what you wanted, right? :)
