I've only done food service working at my college's stadium, where I had to be an attendant at the luxury suites (for people who pay ridiculous amounts to see my school's football team play). Otherwise I was a telemarketer for ~2.5 years (again for my university), and I was a Doll hair stylist. Yes, I styled doll hair. At an American Girl Store. Best job ever!

(Anonymous) 2013-06-13 03:06 am (UTC)(link)I worked at a DD. For a month. I spent most of my time off recovering from the stress and general shitty feeling it left me with. Then they shat on me for my ride having ditched me, so I quit. There's only so much bullshit I can put up with before the paycheck isn't worth it.
I will say, the drinks weren't so much of a problem as the fucking food was. Donuts were easy (just grab and go!). Bagels were annoying when the customer wanted them cut and toasted with the cream cheese on it, but they're not hard to get the hang of. No, the real devil was those fucking sandwiches and whatever, because I fucking hated those ovens, and they fucking hated me, and it's really hard to be a nervous, slow-paced newbie around a bunch of grouchy customers who want their fucking coffee and processed egg'n'cheese crap or whatever.
It's no wonder most of my coworkers smoked. Uhg.
