Lol, my bf grew up devouring the Three Investigator books. He's not the least bit weirded out by slash and fangirling but I wonder if this would hit his "MY CHILDHOOD!" button.

I was 11 years old.

I had no idea that slash or fandom existed.

I didn't even realize I was shipping at the time.

Now that I've realized, I'm not sure if I've ruined my childhood or made it better.

I always found it so weird that Alfred Hitchcock wrote books for kids.

He didn't. There was a character based on him until he died and then they made an original character. I can't remember exactly, but I think the original author had died by then or at least stopped writing the books. The character based on him was a marketing ploy because he was the most famous filmmaker at the time.

Yay, a Three Investigators secret! Though I have to say, I didn't really see the slashiness, even though I was slashing a load of people in other children's books I was reading back then (without knowing it was called 'slashing'. I must go back and reread them now!

Jupiter Jones! God, I loved those books. No slash, ahh, the naivety of youth, but Pete was always my favorite. Though, I definitely had a thing for those Hunt boys , (Willard Price Adventure series.) They've been reprinted, I discovered them in my local bookshop a couple of months ago. I think my shriek of glee frightened the shop assistant. (Of course, my slash addled brain now cannot help but compare them to the warped glory of the Winchesters.)
