goddamn it, my computer ate part of the response. It's been mentioned more than once that if they mess up Sheldon punishes them by making them take his class. And weren't they all trying for tenure at one point?

I always assumed that if Sheldon's friends had to take his class, it wasn't one he was teaching to people who wanted to be there and paid to be there, but rather one he designed for his friends to instruct them on the finer points of Sheldon.

Lesson 1: Don't touch his food.
Lesson 2: Don't touch the thermostat.
Etc...

I'm pretty sure at least Sheldon has talked about his students.

I'm not saying he doesn't teach others, but I do think the class he makes his friends take when they mess up is centered around him, not science.
