Ahahaha this thread reminds me of the fact that my parents think Simpsons is awful and terrible for kids so I've never watched Simpsons. Not a single episode. Just snatches when I'm channel surfing.

For me, it's gotta be the one where Homer goes to space. Classic! References to 2001, Star Trek, Planet of the Apes. Buzz Aldrin and his "second comes after first!" And who could forget The Inanimate Carbon Rod?!

I Love Lisa, for the Krusty special ("Now we come to my favourite part of the show...what's that say? 'Talk to the audience?!' Oy, this part's always death") and American historical humour("There's William Henry Harrison: / 'I died in thirty days!'"; "Bart, do you want to play John Wilkes Booth, or do you want to act like a maniac?"). Also for the rounded, pre-Flanderized characterization of Lisa and Ralph.

The one where Bart sells his soul to Milhouse. It was the first Simpsons ep I ever watched, and upon rewatching it's still my favorite. (Plus I always crack up when he realizes automatic doors no longer work for him. Heeheehee!)
