Inspired by this documentary

Wonder Women!: The Untold Story of American Superheroines (http://video.pbs.org/video/2331042879) Which, if you are in The States or can get access to PBS, you can watch for free until tomorrow.

I ask you, who is you favorite superheroine and why?

I love Powergirl. Sassy and looks like she can clean your clock.

Xena is my badass of choice.

Xena! A mighty princess, forged in the heat of battle. Her courage will change the world!!

Hard to beat that.

Xena has already been mentioned, but she gets another vote.

The women of Elfquest, while not being superheroines, are still comic book characters. They are also intelligent, varied (in body and in personality), multi-faceted, and interesting.

I've always been fond of Squirrel Girl.

Xena. I dressed up like her for Halloween when I was like 9 or so.

(As mentioned) Xena owns all, but I adore Kate Bishop (aka Hawkeye) for her attitude and general badassery.

Xena. We need another "Xena". :C

I also remember being very fond of Storm, Jubilee and Rogue from X-Men: The Animated Series.

All time favourite?... Gosh that's going to be tough.

I think it's a toss up between Scarlet Witch, because I love her reality altering powers, her messed up relationships with her father and her brother, her once romance with Vision, also her look. I like the red corset a lot.

Or Storm, again I really like her powers, I wanted to be able to control the weather when I was a kid and I think she was a big part of the reason why. She's also revered as a goddess which I think is just awesome.

ORACLE!

I don't really care for Babs as Batgirl, but Oracle is my lady. She's sassy! She's smart! She's a super-librarian!

No, really. Babs is a trained librarian and the skills she uses as Oracle are actual skills a librarian might use, applied to a different context.

(Random fact: In some places, if you've got a library science degree, you can apply for a license as a private investigator, which gives you access to a ton of databases and other resources. That's kind of what Oracle does.)

ETA: Well, that's my favorite Western superheroine. My favorite non-Western superheroine is Sailor Jupiter! I could write essays as to why :D (and have, in the past)

First, that's an awesome documentary. I just watched it and loved it. Thank you!

My current favorite is probably Batwoman, but the three Batgirls are tied for a close second.

Wondy is my favorite, not just because I love her character, but also her status as the only super-iconic hero dating from the Golden Age (and who isn't a spinoff character from a male hero) that is a woman means a lot to me as a female reader of comics.
Also love Black Canary, Cassandra Cain, Big Barda, and Supergirl, among many others
It's too bad I don't live in the US, because I would love giving that documentary a watch!

Kitty Pryde is my all-time favorite superhero.

And I love Kate Bishop AKA Hawkeye, as seen in the Hawkeye comics (I have yet to read Young Avengers).

(Wearing part of my Kate Bishop cosplay now <33 )
