You know that A Storm of Swords was published back in 2000, right? We're well past the point when you can reasonably expect its events to be warned for as spoilers.

Don't be an asshole. Yes, loads of us read the books at least a decade ago. But equally many people are clearly discovering them for the first time right now due to the TV show. I think that makes it a least a nice thing to do to warn for spoilers (not that there were ny in that comment)

so, what, should there still be spoilers for things like "snape kills dumbledore" concerning harry potter and "thorin, fili & kili die" concerning the hobbit? for a book that just came out, yes, i can imagine you can warn spoilers for that, but for things that have been out for a significant amount of time you (general, as the reader of whatever series/books) have to understand that if you start up an old(ish) book series that have a) been around a while and b) are popular in it's genre, that spoilers will be evident everywhere.

The Harry Potter books and the films are all concluded now, though. ASoIAF is being adapted right now into a TV show, and never had the cultural influence that The Hobbit does.

Having said that, anon should know that FS is a potential spoiler zone. I just think that, in general, it's pretty assholish to use the excuse of the books having been out for years to spoil something that is one of the most talked about and popular TV shows right now.
