I'd be upset if my brother decided to pick my birthday as the perfect day to celebrate his kid's birthday too, OP. I mean, what if I wanted to actually throw a party on my actual birthday and invite the same people he did? They'd probably choose the kid's party over mine, because kid birthdays are special. There's 364 other days of the year, why pick my birthday to throw a party? And I also like to think that my brother would still want to celebrate the fact that I was born even now that we're adults and check with me if I want to celebrate the day together with him and the rest of the family before deciding that "Nope, we're going to celebrate my kid today instead!". (I don't know exactly how things happened for you, of course, just talking about what would piss me off in this situation.)

A bit off topic now, but I'm wondering why everyone seems to assume OP is male? Did I miss something?
