Please, that storyline is over an done with. And if and when Moriarty comes back for whatever reason, I doubt Holmes is going to be making goo-goo eyes at the person who manipulated him into becoming an addict. He doesn't take well to people who try to manipulate him in general. See his father. (Also, I doubt Moriarty is going to make goo-goo eyes back. Holmes and Watson got the once over on her. I don't think she will take that lightly.)

Speaking of his father, now there's a story that I a hundred times more interested than Moriarty. Now there is going to be some fireworks there.

Exactly, this show was really the opposite of Twilight. Moriarty pretends to be someone else for Sherlock, but then totally and deliberately fucks him over *hard*. Then she puts a bunch of effort into trying to get him to go with her so that she can turn him. (Hence the "show you a new way to live" comment.)

You're going to be pretty disappointed, then. Pretty much every adaptation that has Irene Adler in it has Sherlock Holmes in love with her.

Yup. I was displeased they went there as well, but even though I guessed the twist in the finale I thought it turned out better than expected. It definitely could've been handled worse, imo.

Me too, and honestly I do not get why that. I mean, I suppose I do know - heteronormativity and all that - but really, I want an adaptation where Holmes admires her for JUST her brains, and where she gives no fucks about him.

Also, I've doubly given up hope of Godfrey ever being mentioned even if she isn't. Love interest, too.

I don't get the Twilight reference. She didn't change who she was so she could stay with Sherlock forever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever...

Personally, I don't see any resemblance between Twilight and Elementary. I have seen no sparkles or dead panned actresses and I can only hope it stays that way.

I do agree that the whole Irene Adler as Sherlock's love interest is way over done tho. At least, we got the twist that she was Moriarty. I'll be okay with it as long as she doesn't save Sherlock's life and die in his arms, because his dick is maja and it ~changed her~.

Wait, why are people saying 'the storyline is over so get over it'?

Guys, she just went to prison. Pretty certain that means she's going to come back. Though I'm pretty sure given all that Moriarty has done that she should receive the death penalty but I doubt that's going to happen.

Also, while I don't get the comparison to Twilight, I'm with you on loathing both this, BBC Sherlock and the 2009 film for making Irene an extension of Moriarty (or in this case, IS Moriarty, which while awesome at first also means she has all the more to lose and makes her a pretty weak Moriarty to be defeated like that) when she had no ties to him in canon and, most annoyingly, having her 'feels' for Holmes lead to her downfall and not letting her win. Which, you know, is meant to be the whole strength of her character. I get the sense these SH fanboys who make these shows/films really hate ACD!Irene.
