I'm happy (because weather?)

And I don't know why. I'm just nonsensically happy today. I feel up for doing things all of a sudden, and I suddenly realize I really haven't been able to muster up the energy to feel happy about stuff for several weeks but was too lazy to notice it. I bought a Saint-Saens violin piece after strolling around in the sun eating ice cream in the downtown marketplace for a couple hours, and started playing it as soon as I got home even though I haven't had the energy to practice since before I came back home back in May. IDGI but I'm not questioning it :D

However, I have a sneaking suspicion it's the weather. I'm incredibly sensitive to the weather, to the point where I've contemplated moving to the southwest after I graduate just to be where it's sunny. And the longer I live, the more convinced I am that the weather has a disturbingly big impact on my mood/ability to accomplish things. Is this weird?

Just thought I'd share it here, because other people do and I don't think I ever have...

A+ choice for Saint-Saens. One of my favorite clarinet pieces I've played was a Clarinet sonata by Saint-Saens.

Maybe you have some (mild) form of Seasonal Affective Disorder? even if you don't, the weather can definitely affect your mood. I'm generally a happier person in the summer or when it's not snowy.

I've heard about that seasonal mood stuff. It could be a legit thing or you could just be extra sensitive. You'd probably have to check it out.

I'm having an awesome day because of the weather. I live in the desert and the last two years our monsoon season was basically nonexistent. Today we've had two storms lasting about 30 minutes each and another is rolling in. They project that our rainfall today after this third storm will surpass our rainfall for all of 2012. Maybe water won't be the most expensive utility this month! And the yards will be green instead of brown and this place will look all vibrant and beautiful instead of dusty and dead.

It's a mental relief, but there are physical aspects, too. My skin feels so good and I haven't had to put anywhere near as much lotion on thanks to all of this wonderful humidity. My hair is a little frizzy but in a good way, like it's celebrating all the moisture in the air. My knees aren't exactly happy and keep creaking and popping in protest, but everything else about this rain is awesome :)

Yay for sunshine!

I'm the same way. We've been having some serious June gloom here in SoCal and it's sucked. Today was nice though

I'm always happier when it's sunny. Living by the beach is a mixed blessing - there's a lot of fog.

Not weird at all, Seasonal Affective Disorder is a legit thing! My dad has it (and I do to, to a much lesser extent), and when we moved to Texas several years ago for his job, he got so much happier. It's been a great thing for us. I would definitely look into it some if you're suspicious, it could really be worth that move. Glad you got a happy day today! :)
