(Anonymous) 2013-06-15 07:45 am (UTC)(link)I've only heard bad things about the movie, though, so I'm not sure if I'm ever going to watch it. But if I do and go looking for porn, I'm forever going to wonder if the fics I find are yours.

The movie is beautiful to look at, and it's nice to see Pyunma being portrayed as an actual human being for one.
It's good for the first 90 minutes or so (even if Jet seems to have regained all the baggage he mostly managed to shed during ANY of the series canons).
The animations on the cyborgs when they're using their powers - notably 004 - are done cleverly and as realistically as one can when dealing with firebreathing and a guy made mostly of guns. Along the same lines, as strange as Jet's body looks, they did work hard to make the physics of his flight make sense. Stabilizers to keep boot-rockets from simply rocketing him into the ground, for instance. :)
Cons
GB and Pyunma are PAINFULLY sidelined and underutilized.
The last 15 minutes make NO bloody sense, and there's this weird thing going on with Joe. Also, if you're deeply religious you may be offended by...pretty much the entire plot (which focuses on the potential true nature of God)
Basically, there was one review somewhere that explained it approximately thus: "If you take any five minutes of this movie and analyze them you're not going to find anything wrong; it is only when taken as a whole that it becomes something subpar".
