Ohhh yes. I know how that goes too well.

(I ship Tom from 500 Days of Summer and Bliss from Whip It like burning. It was a thing started mostly because of their Inception characters, but I began to ship it actually seriously).

My crossover OTP... Well, people have crossed the universes over, but nobody ships my pairing, and the ones I poked my head in on...ohgod, the characterization is just cringeworthy. I can't.

I don't know, I'd be pretty happy if someone else put my favorite crossover pairing out there regardless of how they wrote it. Cause a disagreement is still a conversation, I guess.

I have a similar problem, but not with cross-overs. There's an old series I want to write fic for, it doesn't really have any fandom to speak of, but if I posted my works it would be incredibly conspicuous. More so because I write slash, and I don't really want to get bashed by angry dudes.

So I wish more people would have written something already, pairing be damned, just so I wouldn't be either the only one in a semi-dead tag or the only one in a tag period.

Although I also get where you're coming from OP. It's lose/lose.

It's a horrible dilemma when your new OTP is a crossover pairing no one writes but you. On the one hands, you want to read stuff you didn't write. On the other hands, anyone else would proably just ruin it completely.
SB: OP is a selfish, possessive person, and it's JUST a made-up pairing.
