Do you really think bitching about it in a fan group will change things? If it offends write in and complain directly. Don't preach at other fans because it offends you and not them.

This. One of my friends is a huge Twilight fan. I hate absolutely everything about Twilight and consider to be sexist as all hell, but you certainly don't see me ranting to her about it at every opportunity. She knows how I feel about the series because we discussed it a few time, and that was enough. Whenever she starts waxing poetic about the series to other friends you don't see me jumping in and arguing with her at every turn. You just don't DO that.

Why some fandomers fail to understand this, I have no idea.

Why shouldn't someone have a discussion about something that bothered them just because said discussion won't change the world?

Does every conversation have to change the world?
