I have a hypothetical solution for the debate about transcriptions but I don't know how viable implementing it would be.

It's useful to have transcriptions, but when they are posted halfway through a chain of comments, it makes it harder to read the comments themselves with proper context.

However, each post has really structured blocking which helps streamline things immensely (compared to how it was done back-in-the-day when people just wrote the numbers in the comment headers). Would it be possible when making the post to claim the first comment as 'transcription'?

like:
[comment] 01. (link)
[subcomment] transcript
[other subcomments by everyone else]

Then the transcripters can still be at the top even if they get to the secrets after comments have started but without adding too much work for you? I don't know if you have a template you use when making posts of if you do each by hand though, so I don't know how much more work it would potentially be for you.

One Transcript Anon here.

When there are enough comments, at some point down the page, the subject lines just plain stop showing up. They're all "..." even if I put "TRANSCRIPTION" there.

I suppose I could make an account just for transcriptions?
