It's a great show, called The Bletchley Circle. About a group of women codebreakers from Bletchley who get together after the war to solve a murder.

May have had a different title in the US? I don't even know if it was shown there.

It was! PBS showed all three episodes, with the same name as in the UK. They're currently sitting pretty on my DVR, waiting to be watched.

Yes Anna Maxwell Martin is the main character, she's great as always.

I would love another series, it's a format they could easily use again. I wonder if it's even been commissioned? I really liked all the actresses and they worked well, it was also nice to see something about women set in that era.

Mind we do have Call the Midwife which is equally wonderful.

I'd much rather seeing more of the crime-solving aspect of Bletchley Circle women. Call the Midwife is a little too realistic for me, at times. *barf*

....I promise I can type a coherent sentence I was just distracted by the frying pan making odd noises.

I would much rather see more of the crime-solving/mysteries series aspect of The Bletchley Circle, instead of Call the Midwife's endless TLC's A Baby Story in the 1930s premise. But that's just my own opinion.

AYRT I really just meant that Call The Midwife is another show about women, and in fact about something that women, predominately, do, even these days.

I can't watch the childbirth stuff, it grosses me out a bit, sometimes I have to switch the channel. But I love the actresses and the characters are wonderful, and the fact they are real stories and Jennifer Worth before she died was happy with it and with the casting, makes it all so much more poignant.

There will be a second series, I believe with 4 episodes this time. Though I also think there are two separate cases. Or at least that's what I read a while back.

I doubt we'll be lucky enough to have it for years but getting a second series is AMAZING.
