Even for things that you generally hate, there's usually *something* you liked about it, even if it's a little thing like "this one scene was cool" or "the sets were really gorgeous".

I hate MirrorMask, but the costumes were beautiful

I hate Moulin Rouge except for the part where Jim Broadbent sings "Like a Virgin" while wearing a tablecloth.

I love Moulin Rouge but can't stand that part... we're perfectly opposite here. Woo!

That second sentence is pretty true. Even when I read bad fics, there's always one line or bit of characterisation that is just gold and not even in the so-bad-it's-good kind of way either.

I didn't like the Robin Hood movie with Kevin Costner, and Morgan Freeman's 'praying' nearly drove me to tears, but the general purpose of his character ('Yeah he's different from us so what he can be cool and badass too) did my heart good. And Alan Rickman was way hot in it.

Reading 50 Shades of Grey - I hate the hell out of the whole book, except...for the rare lines of snark Ana has.

"I thought it was chocolate fudge brownie sundae with a cherry on top sex, but what do I know."

The Hour had Ben Whishaw as one of the main characters and I like to look at him and listen to his voice.

Isolation was a terrible movie about mutant cows in Britain (I am not making that up), but it did have Sean Harris in it and he took off his shirt. So that's good.

Also, if you watch the movie on mute, you can imagine the actors are apologizing to their careers!

I really don't like Moulin Rouge at all, but I do think it's a really good looking film, especially the sets.

I liked the geologist and biologist characters in Prometheus. I wish they'd gotten more character development, and I loved watching what little of their interaction I got to see. I also really liked David, and making him secretly-evil-with-an-agenda, as opposed to curious-android-who-looks-with-his-hands was a huge turn for the boring, in my opinion.

(There were actually a lot of things I liked about that movie, but it just... Went nowhere. That's why I dislike it instead of just being indifferent.)

The geologist was played by Sean Harris (and he had a brief shirtless scene). He's my favorite actor and I request the highest of fives for you liking his character. Rafe Spall was good too!

That movie was just so random. It's like they planned the special effects first, then wrote the story around them.

I hate the second half of Death Note, for reasons obvious to those who have seen the show, but I love the new characters they introduced.

I can't stand the Twilight films but, dammit, Michael Sheen is fun in them. I'll be flipping the channels and see one of them on and keep flipping back to see if Aro is up. The things I'll watch for my favorite actors.

I can't stand Eragon, but it's hilarious that the great battle between good and evil that ruined the world was won by a cheap shot to the legendary good guy's balls.

The ad-libbed song from the dude with glasses in The Hangover was the only bit that made me chuckle, the rest of the film bored the crap out of me, also I didn't find it funny.

Prometheus was visually pretty and I enjoyed David being a dick, still wish I hadn't paid to see it though.

I hate the 1993 A Little Princess movie, especially the changed ending, but I liked how it did the character of Lavinia and love the part of the ending scene where she hugs Sara. Oh, and some of the sets and costumes are pretty too I guess.

The scenery in the Twilight films is gorgeous.

The party scene in the apartment in Baz Luhrmann's "The Great Gatsby" looks more fun than Gatsby's parties.

I hate In Time but I loved the concept behind it and the costumes and sets.

Uhura got to be totally badass in "Star Trek: Into Darkness"

Badass enough to make it worth seeing the movie?

Avatar had an absolutely GENIUS idea with the avatar system and the initial premise of the conflict. It dropped that ball so hard it might have well power-dunked it, but it was a very nice ball to drop.

And even I have to admit that it was visually mindblowing and deserves all the praise it gets for being a history-making film in terms of 3D technology.

+1 I really loved the setup and overall first half of the movie. Then it just went and did its whole antiquated white savior plotline, and it was such a turn for the stupid even my brother was sitting there with an eyebrow raised.

It did so many things right, and it's a shame the story went the way it did.
