This is such a lovely thread. Thank you for this!

(It's interesting to note how many people respond with physical traits rather than personality traits when asked "what do you like about yourself". Nothing good or bad about that, just interesting.)

You're welcome! I wanted a little bit of positive today!

That is interesting. I didn't have any kind of traits in mind when I posted. I just wanted people to remember something good about themselves.

Maybe it's because personality traits are more subjective, like Person A can think that they're funny and Person B can come around and be like "no you're not," and physical traits - with the exception of things like plastic surgery - are seen as more concrete and permanent. That and they're a lot easier to latch hold of. Like if you're feeling down, it takes a bit more work to grab at abstract parts of yourself vs "my hair's rather nice today."

IDK, your wondering got me wondering too and this is the gist of what I've come up with.

See I'm the opposite. I think my personality is much more concrete and permanent than my looks. Which is not to say that my way is right, just that it's interesting the different ways people look at the world!

I was thinking maybe it has to do with how people identify the idea of Self. Like, do they ID with their body? Is their body their self etc, or is it more a general my mind/personality is my self?

It's all really interesting things to ponder with no right or wrong answer, which is the best kind of pondering if you ask me.
