I'm also the one who posted that secret about having been banned from a site I used to love, and missing the way it was back before everything went crazy. I sometimes think about relying entirely on other sites to get information about things I might want to read, but there's really no other site that covers as many obscure series, so I keep coming back when I want to learn about something nobody seems to have heard of. (Never Mind the Gap is actually a pretty good example of this--so far as I can tell, there are no reviews of it, and there isn't any other site that discusses it in detail.)

Huh, I was banned too.

TV Tropes is a pretty good fandom directory, actually. (And I keep visiting for some of the FanficRecs sometimes :V), but, yeah, not relying on it for actual analyses and stuff is the way to go.
