9. Ugh, ugh. I can certainly relate to that in some sense. Although when I was 13/14ish or so and going through my first diagnosis for Bi-Polar, I went through this stage when I desperately tried to find characters in my fandoms that could possibly be bi-polar as well because... uh, well I dunno actually. But I was always like: "Nu uh, Sherlock Holmes is TOTALLY bi-polar!" or "Well, when you put Daisuke and Ken together, one's manic and one's depressed, so like, that OTP is totally like bi-polar or something!". I swear, I had self made fanon where the entirety of Digimon 02 was just a metaphor about mental illness.

Not that I went out and wrote essays on it or pushed it on anyone, it was just something I did. Possibly because I was am mentally ill.

Granted, I doubt the hundreds of fan who go "Squeee! Autism!" about L are doing that. I'm automatically suspicious of anyone who claims to be mentally ill, even in RL (knowing full well that they're probably suspicious of me as well). I'm doubly suspicious of anyone I meet online who claims to be autistic, especially if they only "realized" when they were fifteen. UH HUH.

tl;dr, sry sry.

"Possibly because I was am mentally ill."

More likely because you just didn't want to feel alone. (don't worry, you're really not) :)

But it's not really that I felt alone. I've always had an amazing support group. That's why I always thought it was strange that I went through that stage.

I guess it's just a way of trying on a new part of one's identity. *shrug*

But yeah, a lot of people do feel alone and that's unfortunate. :P
