I'm not familiar with this, but perhaps you should try to take the initiative? People might just be shy and not dare to friend you -- especially since you've been around since the start, and might seem like an intimidating BNF or something. So don't feel sad, OP!

Since AC1, I have created multiple accounts, joined different teams, played like crazy, chatted on the boards for hours and I have yet to make a single neofriend.

Same. All my Neofriends are on different teams and we just argue with each other over whose team is gonna win.

I've always had trouble making online friends. The closest I've ever had was a girl who was so into my writing that she friended me on facebook, but we never really spoke much.

Hah, it really does, I just managed to log in after some password trial and error. Hasn't really changed all that much, though I don't remember the real-money things being there when I left - I think it was only premium accounts back then.
