This guy's beard makes him look old. He obviously isn't, so it's stupid. He should get rid of it. He'd look much better without it.

To be fair, to me it seems heavily implied the character sometimes skips some grooming and/or has trouble taking care of himself. I don't like beards, but it makes sense for this dude.

EXACTLY. Will's a serious mess. He deals with too much crap to be anal about his appearance. I can't imagine him taking the time to shave every day. Heck, even every week. The beard gives him that rugged, haggard look that implies that he doesn't care much about grooming.

(Not just the beard, either. I mean, have you seen the clothing he wears? He just doesn't care, and I can't blame him).

Well, he's in his late 30s and looks all of 14 without the beard, so it's no wonder he keeps it.

Thankfully, it does nothing to detract from his fierce Botticelli prettiness.
