I imagine people hate it because it's probably one of those things that everybody they meet comments on. "Hey, you have two different-colored eyes!" "NO SHIT, REALLY? I HAD NO FUCKING CLUE."

Not that I have firsthand experience of this, I'm just speculating, given the reactions people I've known have had with other natural oddities. (FTR, I think heterochromia is a lovely little quirk, but I've never seen it in real life.)

Yeah, they did something along those lines. But I wouldn't let that bother me at all. I'm left handed and I get, "You're left handed? Weird!" or "You're left handed. Isn't doing such and such hard for you?" all the time and it doesn't bother me. But then, I like sticking out. I'm odd like that.
