Because I fucking hate when people imagine up their own narrative for what went on behind the scenes (with no knowledge whatsoever of what actually happened) and then use said fiction to reinforce their dislike.

People keep on saying that Thomas Harris or Anthony Hopkins hate the character of Hannibal for example when neither of them have said anything to that extent. Heck, Harris has said very little publicly.
