umm I'm gonna have to agree with you here, this absolutely reeks of a teenager who is so put upon to give simple advice to the person who does EVERY FUCKING THING for them that they have to cry about it on the internet.

Yes it's irritating when people ask you to do the same thing over and over and over, but it's your mom and if this is your biggest problem with her you've got it pretty fantastic.

Exactly! The calling people at school thing is a gigantic pain in the ass, but I get the feeling this person means while they are at college and not physically in class.

This stuff isn't easy for everyone. And yes, that's fucking annoying. But that's your Mom. You're nice to your mom until she's abusive. Being annoying is not being abusive.

My Dad has the most painfully obvious questions about Facebook, but you know what? He's my Dad. I grit my teeth and explain it as fast as I can and then don't dwell on the fact that my Dad is bad at Facebook.

When it's all the fucking time, it get old REAL fast. The fact that you can just sit there and say OP is a whiny teenager means you've never had to deal with this shit. It's beyond annoying because the person absolutely refuses to learn about any new technology when it's kind of essential to know.

You completely missed the post where I said I have had to deal with this shit. The only respite was my sister moving home, which now means she has to deal with this shit.

This is a painfully similar situation. Luckily my Dad's started taking a computer class to help improve his job prospects so maybe he'll learn better there than with his daughters over his shoulder.

Sorry not every can deal with frustrating situations like you can, oh saintly one.

nope, I totally do-- my dad needs help copy/pasting things several times a day, and I have to drive out to grandma's house a couple times a week to reset her cable box for her because she doesn't understand over the phone. Does it drive me up a wall? Yep. But they're family. I'll cut a LOT of slack when it comes to people who wiped my ass for the first year of my life.

My parents need help with their computer or phones every now and then and I always help. They live on the other side of the country and we uses different OSes on both our computers and phones and yet I still find a way to help them. I couldn't live with myself if I didn't since it's such a little thing to ask in return for giving me life and raising me and supporting me for the first 19 years of my life.

Good for you, you have a higher tolerance than others. But some people get sick of repeating and redoing the same shit over and over because people won't fucking listen. I'd be frustrated with people who wanted me to do the same thing over and over because obviously they don't care enough to listen to what I have to say. It goes both ways.

I don't care if my parents wiped my ass when I was a baby, people need to lrn2google and fucking listen or write shit down if they are prone to forgetting.

It got really fucking old really fast. And I can sit her and say, without a trace of trolling or irony that op is being a whiney teenager.

sometimes it's okay to be a whiny teenager, because sometimes the world really is unfair, your parents are temporarily ruining your entire life (in 20 minute intervals), and everything just sucks

worse, there's nobody left to care if you post about it on livejournal
