I don't know, most of what they're talking about really just does not sound that complicated at all. It sounds so basic that their mother just must not be paying attention to anything they show her at all, or have established some kind of habitual routine of asking for help.

That happens with some frequency, too.

This. Some of the stuff the OP mentioned is generally as simple as 'Click the red X/Red dot' and it's done. That doesn't seem like it's something that really needs a skilled teacher so much as it needs the 'student' to pay attention in order to figure it out.

And GUIs are much more intuitive these days, compared to, say, the nineties. This is a great time to learn how to computer.
