I think this is the sort of thing that becomes less annoying the older you get. When I was younger, college, and starting to get a foothold, it bugged me. "Ugh, you're being weird. I don't care. I have no idea how to respond to your odd conversation-fic in my comments section!" Maybe it's because I was only a few years removed from silly teenaged squee-fanning myself.

Now, yeah, it's odd and I'd still prefer not thanks, but it's easier to see it as someone young and enthusiastic just being as enthusiastic as they possibly can.
