Don't sweat it, the thread got out of hand. As for all the OMG YOUR TONE WAS WHINY remarks... I'm sorry, was there a general memo that venting has to be 100% reasonable and not, you know, venting? If blowing off steam here lets you be patient with your mom in real life, then you're doing fine.

Maybe there's a local community center or college course that can teach your mom Computers 101 or something. Lots of people have trouble learning new technology, so they're fairly common.
