I've been in a number of big fandoms over the years and Homestuck really is no weirder than the average fandom. It only seems weirder because the canon's inscrutable to outsiders.

Actually, Homestuck fandom lacks a lot of the usual batshit. No RPF tinhatting, no tweeting the actors pornographic fanfic (Hussie doesn't give a shit about fic anyway) and the ship wars are positively tame compared to other fandoms (HP, Avatar).

I think Homestuck is way saner than HP fandom, lol--but there's no actors to tinhat over or tweet porn TO.

(And I still say anything involving Misha Collins gets a pass--I'm out of SPN fandom for years now but Misha loves the crazy.)
