You still had them though. You just didn't write them down, but they weren't one time scenarios in your head but could often get more elaborate than that, didn't they? I'd say it's still the same thing, whether you wrote them down or didn't.

It's like a disease. I had all these Sues growing up, but I never did anything with them because I saw so many people talking about it. Now I'm 20 and still have horrible self-insert fantasies from time to time.

oh yeah, but i didn't have any interest in sharing them with anyone else. that's the part i can't understand, the appeal in broadcasting those things to the entire world. even when i was 13 or so i would get intense secondhand embarrassment reading someone else's suefic.

to me it always kind of felt like someone sitting there having a loud conversation with an imaginary friend in a public place. it's all well and good to do in your head but keep it to yourself, you know?
