I'm really concerned about what this movie is going to do to his career. There are too many people out there who think that an actor has the same beliefs and values and practices as their characters.

He's an incredible actor, this is an amazing book and a brave role for him. I don't want to see him ruined because of it.

I think he'll be fine; this isn't going to be a huge movie and he's done enough to not really be typecast.

I don't think that's going to happen. I think he's go into a bit of a "good guy" mould and he wants a bit of a change. A challenge. I think as an actor you can't be afraid that people will think you are your character or else no one would ever take any risks and movies would be pretty boring.

Yeah, look at what happened to Leonardo DiCaprio after The Basketball Diaries, or Ben Stiller after Permanent Midnight, or Johnny Depp after Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, or Ryan Gosling after Half Nelson, or, like, everyone in it after Trainspotting.

In other words, I don’t think you have anything to worry about. That type of thing usually doesn't happen unless the actor keeps doing the same kind of roles over and over or they have similar real life problems that keep getting publicity.
