I didn't like it but liking it does not make you either a bad Star Trek fan or a racist. It was a thing that had an element that was shitty and harmful, that doesn't make it fucking Birth of a Nation.

Agreed that liking it doesn't make you a bad fan - I'm glad someone enjoyed it considering how much time and money was spent on it and for the actors' sakes -

but "an element that was shitty"? Just one? There's at least three: racism, sexism, and horrible writing -

I mean, the tribble alone was pulled out of someone's ass and letting a ship leave after the Chief Engineer said, "This is hazardous, I'll resign before I let the ship take this onboard" but no one was reprimanded/demoted for that irresponsibleness? No Captain would ignore the Chief Engineer like that. It's too much of a risk.
