there are so many fucking rules to being a lolita it would make you barf. And the best part is that no two people actually agree on most of them (it's okay to have skirts above your knees, no it's not, they can be one inch or less above, no they can't... etc)

So basically you fight with the rules for a while and then either drop the fashion or start wearing whatever you like and just don't look at the secret comms and whatnot to see if anyone is talking about you. Or better yet, don't post your pics on the internet.

I am friends with the Angelic Pretty people in San Francisco and they think the "rules" are freaking hilarious.

My favourite story about being posted to BTB was the idiot who posted a bunch of old pictures of me that they found on photobucket. I was wearing lolita items in some of those pictures (fuck, if I spend that kind of money on clothes I'm not going to JUST wear them to go to meetups all together) but I wasn't in an actual full lolita coord in any of them. One of them was a pic of me wearing a t-shirt and jeans and a fedora clowning around on casual day at work. I just...really? I don't care if pissyasses are going to criticise my outfits but maybe they should be able to tell when I'm NOT trying to be lolita?

Skirt has to be knee-lenght, not shorter, you don't wear a jumperskirt without a blouse, take care of your wig..that's all I can think of, I'm not a loli.
