I liked STID well enough but I did enjoy IM3 more, but I am more attached to the current Marvel movie-verse.

That being said you don't have to like every film(or TV series in the case of ST too) in a franchise to be a 'proper' fan, hell there are a bunch of Star Trek movies I don't like and I still consider myself a fan of the series as a whole.

I have a similar line of reasoning. I love TNG but nothing else in the ST franchise, so I don't identify myself as a Star Trek fan. There's too much I don't know or understand to ever call myself a Trekkie and I think it would be insulting to Trekkies if I did.

Man I don't even try to quantify what 'counts' as a real fan(of anything not just ST) because in the end everyone is going to have a different opinion. It's stupid. If you consider yourself a fan then as far as I'm concerned you are.

Also TNG is best, everyone knows this. :P
