I've been re-reading old Pinto fics and one thing stood out to me as especially irritating:
The authors' veneration of the FANON Chris's love for books and the fact that he has a degree in English. Seriously, people, projecting much?
If you read books, you read books. You aren't a special exceptionally smart snowflake who deserves a cookie.
If you are an English Major, for the love of God, don't start every LJ comment with As an English Major or The English Major in me wants to...
So you extended your childhood love for old novels into your late adolescence and got a degree out of it. Wow, you have really stretched yourself there. You should be given special authority on everything. You know some people actually study things that make them employable and read books in their free time?
(And before you accuse me of being mean to paragons of literacy who read The Wuthering Heights twice - I am an English Major.)
