I find the clarifications are very helpful. Not everyone knows every fandom reference/term. If the clarifications annoy you, skip the transcriptions altogether. The person is doing a service that was requested. Now there are those who are complaining about HOW it is being done. Lay off or do it yourself.

Exactly. Some of them might seem a little obvious to people but it doesn't hurt to be thorough.

Bingo.

It's not an insult to NOT assume everybody knows every bit of jargon or slang being used in a secret - the entire point of jargon is that it's only needed (and thus typically only known) in specific circumstances, and the nature of slang is that it tends to be isolated to a specific community - too old, too young, from the wrong place, not a member of the right forum, etc, etc and you'll never hear these words that other people take for granted.
