VII, IX and Tactics are awesome games. VIII was... yeah. But still, it was awesome that they got so many games out on the PSOne, 3 numbered, plus Tactics, and ported V and VI, too. They got two out on the PS2 (X and XII) and the PS3 got one, sequel aside, XIII. Will any come out on the PS4? Hmm...

I think XV will be a PS4 title. It's the game that was supposed to be FF XIII Versus - they just figured they could make it a proper game in its own right for the new generation consoles.

They also got out a ported FFIV, as part of the Final Fantasy Chronicles set with Chrono Trigger. Toward the end of the console's life span they ported FFI and FFII out in the Final Fantasy Origins set. Good times. I honestly think that the PSOne era was Square's heyday.

I really do hope that they get a decent FF title for the PS4. FFXIII was absolutely not what I wanted in a JRPG--it had great characters, an interesting story, beautiful music and graphics, but absolutely AWFUL gameplay that dragged the whole package down into mediocrity. I'm hoping FFXV will be a much better game.

They're going to port X and X-2 for the PS3. Possibly XII as well. (And technically XIV is a numbered FF on the PS3, if we count online games also.)

Who knows what they'll do for the PS4, though.
